About College

Nandurbar is known as a tribal district. More than 75 percent of the total population in the district is Tribal. This district has always been educationally and economically backward. Out of the six talukas in the district, Akkalkuwa taluka has not made much progress in the field of education. Tribal children did not have many opportunities for higher education

Molgi is the largest populated village in the akkalkuwa taluka. Since Molgi is the biggest market in Satpuda, educational facilities and opportunities were not available to the students at that place. Keeping in mind the aim of educational, social and economic progress of the society as a social commitment, the idea of establishing an organization came to mind in the year 1999. Like-minded people can come together with a common goal and establish a good organization. These thoughts came to mind. Our society can progress through education.

Education is the most important tool for human development. Therefore Gram Vikas Mandal was established in the year 1999. The organization was registered and approved by the Charity Commissioner Dhule. The motto of this institute was kept as ‘Vidya Loksyamangalya’. There are 140 to 150 small padas, hamlets and villages in this area.

Tribal boys and girls living there in remote and very remote hilly areas had to go to Dhadgaon or Akkalkuwa for higher education. There were no facilities for higher education within an area of about 40-42 km. Therefore, students were deprived of higher education.

Usually students from Vadphali, Pimpalkhuta had to travel 60 to 65 kilometers from Akkalkuwa and Dhadgaon to get higher education. There were no communication facilities for that. Students could not come and go every day. Therefore higher education could not progress. We also owe something to the society in which we live.

Therefore, College was established with the thought that if the facility of higher education is provided in Molgi, there will be a drastic change in the life and society of the students and there will also be educational progress.

In order to provide quality education to the students of Molgi area, the founder president of the institute, Mr. Saysing Bhamta Padvi and all the board of directors sent the proposal of the college to the government and it was approved on 29th June 2001 in the Faculty of Arts. The doors of higher education were opened to tribal children.

While providing quality education facility in Molgi area, many financial difficulties were faced. Today in the modern and competitive era the students of MolgiCollege are working at high positions. The College has prioritized quality education by implementing various schemes for the poor students of the area.

Gram Vikas Mandal Molgi, an organization that wants to create a new standard in the field of education, has made its debut in the field of college education for many years and the organization is making strong progress in terms of educational development. College is affiliated to kaviyitri Bahinabai Chaudhari, North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon.

College was approved for the first year from the academic year 2001-02 as per the rules of University Grants Commission,University and Government of Maharashtra. And naturally second and third year were approved. The College is running continuously till the academic year 2023-24 without any financial assistance from the government to the tribal students. Gram Vikas Mandal organization has a lion’s share in providing higher education to students in Molgi area and bringing change in their lives.
